British Airways
The airline rules stipulates that there are three options:
  • Date change – New tickets travel periods between 3rd March – 31st May and existing tickets with travel outbound and inbound 14th March – 31st July are allowed travel (outbound and inbound) by 30th April 2022
  •  Leave your ticket open for a future travel date
  • Convert your ticket to a credit voucher. This means the full value of your current ticket can be used to purchase ticket for future travel. Once authorized, we will cancel the ticket and send the voucher to your email


Air Cote d’ivore
The airline rules stipulates that there are three options:
  • Date change – Outbound travel must commence by 31st August 2020
  • Leave your ticket open for a future travel date
  • Convert your ticket to a credit voucher. This means the full value of your current ticket can be used to purchase ticket for future travel. Once authorized, we will cancel the ticket and send the voucher to your email
Air France
The airline rules stipulates that there are three options:
  • Date change – Travel must be completed within 12 months from date of issue.
  • Leave your ticket open for a future travel date
  • Convert your ticket to a credit voucher. This means the full value of your current ticket can be used to purchase ticket for future travel. Once authorized, we will cancel the ticket and send the voucher to your email

Please Note:

For customers with partly used tickets, you can either make a free date change or leave your ticket open for a future travel date. Credit vouchers are not allowed for partly used tickets at the moment


Delta Air
The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:
  •  Date change – Travel must be completed on/or after 01 December 2020
  • Leave your ticket open for a future travel date

Please Note:

Refunds (cash or vouchers) are not permitted at the moment.


Egypt Air
The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:
  •  Date change – Travel must be completed within 12 months from date of issue
  • Leave your ticket open for a future travel date


Air peace
The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:
  • Leave your ticket open for a future travel date
  • Date change – The free date change only applies to flights departing 28th of March, 2020 to 20th April, 2020. Flights that fall outside of these date range are expected to operate as scheduled

Refunds are not permitted at the moment


Arik
  • The airline allows you to leave your ticket open for a future travel date.
Dana
  • The airline rule stipulates that you only make one free date change
Emirates

The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:

  •  Tickets can be left open for future travel with an open coupons status of 760days from date of issuance. Changes are permitted with a waiver within the same cabin.
  • Refund & No-show:

For flight cancellations, travel bans and lock-downs preventing travel, unused portion of the ticket is eligible for refund without penalty. Processing delays may apply due to current backlog


Ethiopian Airways

The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:

  •  Date change – Travel must be completed before December 31st 2021
  • Leave ticket open for a future travel date on or before 31st December 2021
  • Convert your ticket to a credit voucher. This means the full value of your current ticket can be used to purchase ticket for future travel. Once authorized, we will cancel the ticket and send the voucher to your email

Please Note:

For travel dates between 04 Mar to 30 June 2020, you can cancel your ticket and receive a refund


Etihad

The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:

  •  Date change – Departure date must be on/before 15th July 2020
  • Leave ticket open for a future travel date

Please Note:

Refunds (cash or vouchers) are not permitted at the moment. The option to cancel ticket and receive refund is only open to flight between 4 March and 30 June 2020.


Kenya Airways

The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:

  • Date change – Travel must be completed within 12 months of the original departure date.
  • Leave your ticket open for a future travel date
  • Convert your ticket to a credit voucher. This means the full value of your current ticket can be used to purchase ticket for future travel. Once authorized, we will cancel the ticket and send the voucher to your email


KLM

The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:

  • Date change – Travel must be completed within 12 months from date of issue
  • Leave ticket open for future travel dates
  • Convert your ticket to a credit voucher. This means the full value of your current ticket can be used to purchase ticket for future travel. Once authorized, we will cancel the ticket and send the voucher to your email


Lufthansa

The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:

  •  Date change – Travel must be completed by 31st December 2020
  • Leave your ticket open for a future travel date
Qatar

The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:

Royal Air Maroc

The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:

  •  Date change :Please provide a date but you will be required to pay a fare difference if available
  •  Leave your ticket open for a future travel date
  •  Convert your ticket to a credit voucher. This means the full value of your current ticket can be used to purchase ticket for future travel. Once authorized, we will cancel the ticket and send the voucher to your email. Travel must be completed within 6 months of date of issue
Rwanda Air

The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:

  • Date change: Please provide a date but you will be required to pay a fare difference if available
  • Leave your ticket open for a future travel date
Turkish

The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:

  •  Date change – Travel must be completed by 31st December 2020. Please provide a date but you will be required to pay a fare difference if available
  • Leave your ticket open for a future travel date

Virgin Atlantic

The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:

  • Free date change fee waiver for all ticket with original issue date before 15th March, Travel date is between 1st March – 31st May 2020. Can rebook until 30 April 2021. (please note that if there is a fare difference you will be required to pay for it)
  • Refundable tickets – Full refunds may be processed without charges
  • Non Refundable Tickets – Refunds are permitted for customers impacted by active government restrictions with no option to book otherwise customer
South African Airways

The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:

  • The airline only allows you to leave your ticket open for a future travel date. The airline has not loaded inventory so date changes are currently not possible. Refunds (cash or vouchers) are also not permitted now
TAP Portugal

The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:

  •  We have extended the possibility of rescheduling your flight, without paying the associated change fee, for any TAP route and for any travel date.
  •  From now on, the reservation change can be made up to 24 hours before the departure of your first flight, rescheduling the new trip to any destination and flying until December 31, 2020.
  •  Alternatively, we fully refund the amount paid for the purchase of the ticket, by issuing a voucher, sent by email, valid for one year, for use on a future journey of your choice.
  • If your journey is after 31 May 2020, we recommend that you await the development of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, when your travel date is closer and if the pandemic persists, check with TAP to confirm what alternatives are available.
Brussels Airline

The airline rules stipulates that there are two options:

  • for passengers who already know when they want to fly

Rebooking the trip to a later date.

New start of travel: according to the original ticket validity or by 31 December 2020 at the latest (whichever is earlier)

  • for passengers who do not yet know the new date of travel and/or destination

 Rebooking/reissue of the existing ticket must be completed on/before 31 August 2020 for the new travel dates and the new routing.

Please see below the details of policy:
  • Eligible for passengers with a booked flight until 31 December 2020, and
  • With an SN (082) ticket issued on/before 31 March 2020, and
  • With a booked Brussels Airlines flight number operated by Brussels Airlines or any other code-share partner worldwide.
  • Passenger may rebook once free of charge and receive a credit or reduction of 50 Euro.
The following rules apply for both options:
  • The rebooking/reissue transaction must be completed on/before 31 August 2020
  • The rebooking fee does not apply
  • Origin and destination of the journey can be changed
  • New commencement of travel: according to the original ticket validity or by 31 December 2020 at the latest (whichever is earlier)
  • Fare difference has to be charged, but If the total price (fare + taxes/fees/surcharges) of the new ticket is higher than the total price of the existing ticket, the additional payment is reduced by EUR 50
  • If the total price of the new ticket is lower than the total price of the existing ticket, the customer will receive a residual value EMD of up to EUR 50, which can be refunded.
  • Change of the passenger (“Name Change”) is not permitted
  • The conditions of the new fare apply
  • These rebookings/reissues are also permitted for PNRs/tickets that have already been rebooked/reissued (earlier reissues based on a goodwill rule or due to cancelled flights)
  • The goodwill policy also applies to passengers who have been a no-show on their originally booked flight.
  • EMDs that were associated to the original ticket remain valid.

FAQ

Q: What are EMD Vouchers?

EMD vouchers are Electronic Miscellaneous Document issued via the airline with the same value of an original ticket paid to the airline which can be used by same passengers to purchase another ticket with same airline for a future date.

The vouchers are usually valued for one year or based on the initial validity of your original ticket and can be used to buy a new ticket on any future travel date.

Q: What are Open Tickets:?

Most airlines have allowed passengers to leave tickets open allowing the customer to make a change in the future. Not all airlines allow one free change on your flight ticket, which gives customers time to decide after the pandemic to utilize the flight ticket.

Q: Status on Refunds:

A recent open letter by International Air Transport Association (IATA) on refunds by the airline states that; “Our industry is experiencing a critical liquidity crisis. Most airlines are spending more cash in reimbursing their passengers than they receive in new booking revenues. We recently estimated the industry’s liability in this area at $35 billion. In this context, airlines’ most urgent need is to keep their remaining liquidity to pay salaries and face their fixed 2 costs. It is practically impossible for industry players to find sufficient financial means to keep the air travel value chain operating in the short time that airlines have before facing bankruptcy.”

We have seen delays in refunds process from the airline which we can no longer determine when the funds will be paid to the company to reimburse our customers, hence we have been advised to offer customers EMD vouchers or leave the tickets open for a future travel
